The Long Island Sound Catalina Association (LISCA) is comprised of boat owner families that sail in and around Long Island Sound waters and includes members of the local Catalina One Design fleets. Its membership is open to all current ot previous Catalina sailboat owners. New one-design fleets are welcome to form within the Association.

Fellowship on the water is a goal for many of us. The purpose of LISCA is to foster friendship among sailors both on and off the water, to promote enjoyment of sailing, cruising, and racing Catalina yachts, and to facilitate information exchange and activity planning which makes sailing easier, safer and more pleasant.
LISCA will serve as an 'umbrella' organization to provide a more efficient communication and financial structure for the various one-design fleets in the area. LISCA officers consist of a Commodore, Past Commodore, Vice Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, Fleet Captains for each fleet, Rear Commodore, Newsletter Editor, Membership Chairman, and Chief Measurer. Each Fleet within the organization will have a Fleet Captain to coordinate activities specific to that Fleet and to act as liaison to the Fleet's National/ International Association and provide input to their respective sections of Mainsheet, the Catalina owners' magazine.
Once a year LISCA members meet to satisfy the requirement for an 'Official Annual Meeting.' This meeting, held each November, elects the LISCA officers for the coming year. The winter schedule includes additional meetings which provide a forum for discussion of topics related to ownership of our Catalinas. Expert guest speakers from local boat and equipment dealers, the Coast Guard, and other boating organizations will periodically make presentations at winter meetings.
LISCA plans activities on the water in both eastern and western Long Island Sound. Rendezvous are planned for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day, and we have a summer cruise and weekend regatta. LISCA owns a mooring at Conscience Bay, Port Jefferson, NY and Northport Harbor, Northport, NY for use by members. Other mooring sites are being planned.
LISCA yearly dues are $27. Dues are used primarily to cover communication, meeting and mooring costs. Each National Catalina Association, including those Catalina-built Capri sailboats, have banded together to produce the Mainsheet. This magazine is published four times a year and contains 100 pages of Fleet news, notes from the factory, sailing information and plans for upgrading boats for improved maintenance and comfort. LISCA's Fleet News, will pick up where Mainsheet leaves off, providing a vehicle for local communication.
