Raft Ups / Rendezvous:

  • All members are invited to attend and one volunteer is needed to host the event.

  • "Happy Hour" are defined as informal gatherings hosted by a volunteer boat. All attendees should bring an appetizer and their favorite drink.  Appetizers can be "light" or "hearty." Dinner is rarely needed after a LISCA Happy Hour!  For example: "light" consists of cheese & crackers, various chips & dips, veggies, fruits & nuts, etc. "Hearty" consists of shrimp, meatballs, pigs in a blanket, pasta, chili, etc.

Use of Mooring:

  • All Members in good standing are entitled to utilize any LISCA mooring (Port Jefferson & Oyster Bay).

  • First boat on mooring welcomes all members to raft- up (Maximum of five, depending on weather).

  • If boat on mooring is unattended, raft- up is permitted provided it can be accomplished safely and without damage.

  • Incoming boat to raft-up provides all lines and fenders and abides by the following:

                        * Maintain proper spreader offset of at least two feet fore or aft

                        * Secure a bow & stern line

                        * Secure a fore & aft spring line

  • Largest boat should be attached to mooring pendent (to balance the raft as best for conditions).

  • All skippers of boats rafted together have the responsibility to maintain the safety of the raft-up.

  • If conditions require a reduction in the number of boats rafted, boats are requested to leave in the reverse order (last on, first to leave).

  • Engine running may be permitted if held to a minimum between the hours of 10am - 11am and 4pm - 5pm.
