LISCA
Membership Information
Events:
Members are asked to
volunteer to host meetings and events throughout the year.
Meetings / Winter
Parties:
All members are invited
to attend. The February meeting is usually held at a restaurant. The November and
April meetings are "potluck" held at a member's home. Members bring
their beverage of choice and one of the following, or as specified by the
host:
Appetizer and salad
Appetizer and dessert
Main dish
Raft Ups / Rendezvous:

All members are
invited to attend and one volunteer is needed to host the event.

"Happy
Hour" are defined as informal gatherings hosted by a volunteer boat.
All attendees should bring an appetizer and their favorite
drink. Appetizers can be "light" or "hearty."
Dinner is rarely needed after a LISCA Happy Hour! For example: "light"
consists of cheese & crackers, various chips & dips, veggies, fruits
& nuts, etc. "Hearty" consists of shrimp, meatballs, pigs in a
blanket, pasta, chili, etc.
Use of Mooring:

All Members in good
standing are entitled to utilize any LISCA mooring (Port Jefferson &
Oyster Bay).

First boat on
mooring welcomes all members to raft- up (Maximum of five, depending on
weather).

If boat on mooring
is unattended, raft- up is permitted provided it can be accomplished safely
and without damage.

Incoming boat to
raft-up provides all lines and fenders and abides by the following:
* Maintain proper spreader offset of at least two feet fore or aft
* Secure a bow & stern line
* Secure a fore & aft spring line

Largest boat
should be attached to mooring pendent (to balance the raft as best for
conditions).

All skippers of
boats rafted together have the responsibility to maintain the safety of the
raft-up.

If conditions
require a reduction in the number of boats rafted, boats are requested to
leave in the reverse order (last on, first to leave).

Engine running may
be permitted if held to a minimum between the hours of 10am - 11am and 4pm -
5pm.

If extended running
is required boat should leave mooring.
Cruises
-
LISCA organizes
several cruises throughout the year
-
All members are
invited to be part of or join in at any point along the cruise route.

Experienced cruiser
will organize and guide the fleet.

Happy hours are
scheduled regularly throughout the cruise.
-
Some breakfasts
& dinners may be planned in various ports.
Regatta /
Rendezvous
-
All members are
invited to this annual LISCA event whether or not you race.
-
The goal if to hold
an event that is friendly, safe and fun.
-
There is something
for everyone!
-
Members can choose
to race, crew or serve on the race committee.
-
Land activities
(lounge, tour, shop, relax with friends).
-
Happy hours, dinner
and awards ceremony.
-
Breakfast, guest
speaker and prize raffle.
-
Marine equipment
swap or sell meet.
